The Berlin Working Group for Civic Education (bapob) is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-religious and autonomous association. Since 1980, we have been offering international exchange projects and civic education seminars for young people as well as providing international training courses for people who are active in youth and social work. Our goal is to promote independent and enjoyable learning experiences that prepare participants for a life in a diverse and complex world.

Bapob works on an international level …
In our international projects we organise youth exchange projects and trainings for people working with youth in cooperation with European and non-European countries (France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Poland, Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, Argentina, Brazil). Our current topics include migration, intercultural learning, constructive conflict resolution, globalisation, youth participation, music, dance and multimedia. Our international seminars are supported e.g. by the German-French Youth Office, the German-Polish Youth Office and the European YOUTH Programme.

… as well as on a local and regional level
Bapob also offers seminars on civic education and additional training classes for vocational students, especially to apprentices in nursing and retail or trade. The contents of these seminars are customised to meet each group’s needs and could include prevention of racism, communication, conflict resolution, drugs and addictions, violence in society, issues involving death and dying. These seminars are supported by, among others, the Land of Berlin.
