Introduction into the project

  • Participation as subject of growing importance
  • The concept was written in June last year within the framework of a special YOUTH programme of the EU on Youth Participation
  • local networks with partners from school, municipality and youth work
  • connection between international meetings and local networks makes real consequences on local level possible
  • time frame of 21 months -> implementation of Youth Participation possible

  • should be online before the Summer Academy
  • should contain photos, description of local project (see main points down there), photo and information about participants so that they can start conversation before the meeting and so that those who will not participate in the international meetings can also communicate with each other, presentation of country, map, where is the city etc. à shall be done by youth (Heidi and Anne are responsible for organising this)

    - regional information can be in one’s own language

Summer Academy:

Everybody wrote 6 goals and six expectations that are important for him/her. Then 2 and then 4 and 6 persons together discussed them and pointed out the most important.
  • Goals

1. Face different problems (and objectives) concerning participation and find solutions together.
2. Improve our competences and creativity (e.g. by working with games, by producing a documentation)
3. use it to motivate people to work in the local sector (multiplicatory-effect)

4. Exchange best practises and create new ideas on participation project in all the 5 countries in order to improve youths knowledge
5. Build up an international group of young people
6. Define future common international and local projects within the youth programme or others involving NGOs and authorities

    1. Integration: give space keeping in mind different aspects that may cause difficulties for several people

        Preparation of Participants
        • List of vocabulary + documents à Giulia, Anna
        1. words that are used in seminaries (like brainstormin etc.)
        2. words refered to different topics (list council of europe)
        3.words for to express oneself
        • Presentation of local projects in a creative, active and involving way
        • Each participant brings something that is important for him/her (thing)
        • Make the participants talk before via internet platform
        • Intercultural evening à food and anything else like f.e. music: we want t o pay attention to the producing and reinforcing of stereotypes, so we want the participants to present something that is really part of their every-day-life that for them really is important…
        • Clothes: swimming dress, sport shoes, jacket
        • Before the summer academy, every group will make a research about possibilities and projects of youth participation in their citiy, region.
        • List of Best Practises of participation in one’s own countries (but only one will be presented during the academy).
        • Bring written Information about the projects (material), translate 2-3 of it (also as a practice for English), which we can hang out on a wall.
        • Collect ideas of the participants: what topics are they interested in? what can they bring in? what tasks can they take over? The young people should take over as much as they feel able to do (icebreaker as well as moderation f.e.)
        • Leisure time programme: German group of participants will make some proposals, others react, write their opinion. Good communication on this. If there are things planned where the participants are asked to spend a lot of extra money, all groups are asked before.

        If anybody of the international coordinators has an important question (e.g. concerning finances) à
        mail to Nani = mail to all international coordinators, also the answer.
        = same process for local coordinators
        The team for the summer academy consists of international and local coordinators. Local coordinators more contact person to the group, international more for finances, organisational stuff in general etc. The workshops are held by participants themselves as well as of people from the team.
